It’s been a crazy day for Bitcoin. The lag issues affecting Mt.Gox are still ongoing, contributing in part to a price drop. To be sure, Instawallet is providing a lot of grief. I wish the price would fluctuate a little more, testing against good levels. Perhaps all the bubble talk is for real. I have a commentary I am working on to explore the issues, and connect you all with a few relevant links to events and issues I think are worth consideration. I hope to have it up later this evening, but I won’t rush it.
Bitcoin faucets are systems that reward users in Satoshi (1 Satoshi = 0.00000001 bitcoin) either on a website or on an app. Users are rewarded by viewing ads, completing a captcha or simply staying on the website. Bitcoin is an innovative payment network and a new kind of money. Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks managing transactions and the issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network. Bitcoin is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part. Through many of its unique properties, Bitcoin allows exciting uses that could not be covered by any previous payment system.
Investor Ronnie Moas didn’t give a timeline for his prediction, but expects it to skyrocket to $400,000, presumably at some point in the near future. His reasoning is simple: “I look at Bitcoin the same way I look at Amazon. The way to play Amazon for the last 15 years was to buy it, hold it, and add on the dips. That’s exactly the way I think people should be playing Bitcoin.”

Typically, faucets have a minimum time interval limit between claims by each visitor, in order to prevent one person from claiming all the available bitcoin from faucet’s wallet. This duration varies from 5 minutes to 24 hours, depending upon the faucet.
MoonBit.co.in has a baseline payout about 75% of FreeBitco.in if you claim once an hour. However, their daily loyalty bonus rises by 1% for each day you claim at least once, maxing out at 100%, so the hourly baseline is 150% of FreeBitco.in after you’ve been claiming steadily for a few months. In addition a) the mystery bonus adds another 1%-100% of baseline with a fairly even distribution; b) you can boost the hourly take if you claim more than once per hour, though I’m not sure how much higher it can go since I don’t have the time to spare for a claim every five minutes; and c) because the payout continues to go up until you make a claim (I think it maxes out after 24 hours), your first payout after a gap of more than an hour will be bigger than usual, whereas it’ll be the same for FreeBitco.in after a gap. In all, I don’t bother to claim more often than once an hour from MoonBit.co.in, but I still get around twice as much from them in a week as I do from FreeBitco.in.

Just an update regarding payments. The Bitcoin blockchain remains clogged up this past week resulting in slow/stuck transactions. Our latest transaction from last week is still in queue waiting to be confirmed. There do appear to be signs that the traffic is clearing up, however. Rest assured that BitcoinGet payments will resume as soon as possible, hopefully within the next couple of days.
